Last night, the newly-minted North American League of Legends pro group NRG introduced itself about the game’s popular subreddit, unveiling it’d bought its location in the 2016 Championship Line from Team Coast. Going to routine pre-season eSports reports if something similar did not happen practically every other full week.
The League of Legends championship line is a months-long regional contest that decides which squads from a region (in this situatio, North America) go to the Entire world Championships that year. Eight teams compete in the KOD NAS LCS, and only three reach Worlds afterwards. A posting on the League subreddit recently helpfully reminds us what eight U. S. teams are presently in the competition set to come from January next year. They are:
Team SoloMid (TSM)
Counter-Logic Game playing (CLG)
Of the competitors currently on this list, Team 8, Team Impulse, as well as Gravity Gaming have all declared plans to sell their LCS spots before the 2016 time gets started. Team NRG lol boost and Renegades are both brand-new teams that will compete within the LCS for the first time-Renegades got their by passing (i. e., competing) for the spot in mid-August, when NRG, which was purchased with the co-owners of the NBA crew Sacramento Kings, bought their spot.
That leaves the initial five teams on this list-TSM, CLG, Liquid, Dignitas, and also C9-as the half of up coming year’s tournament that’s truly played in the LCS prior to. But even saying in which isn’t entirely fair. TSM jettisoned almost its overall lineup in mid-October following the completion of a disappointing run with 2015 Worlds. Team Dignitas just announced a new roster for itself last night. Counter-Logic Gaming hasn’t revealed most of its plans yet, though the team has already lost it has the star play DoubleLift for you to TSM. It also let go of the head coach at the end of August. This essentially leaves C9 and Team Liquid for the reason that only established teams commencing 2016.
Personnel and roster changes always happen in the off-season in League eSports, much as they do using old-school analog sports. Nevertheless there hasn’t been some sort of pre-season quite like this just before. With so much being altered in just a few weeks, it’s grow to be extremely difficult to know what exactly to expect in the coming season of League eSports inside the U. S.
It’s in contrast to the many changes to the rivalling North American League teams became available of nowhere, however. Typically the U. S. had an incredibly poor showing at the League of Legends World Championships last month; not one of the three teams that achieved it to the competition managed to make it past the first round involving eliminations. And that was the ideal year that NA groups have had at Worlds!
Let me see if all the changes ensure that the NA pro teams also in 2016.
